On Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 the employees of Pizza Junction had the honor and privilege of welcoming Guy Fieri and his staff into their kitchen for a taping of the hit show “Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives.” In response to over 200 emails they received from loyal Pizza Junction customers, the Triple D, as they call themselves, came to North Tonawanda to see how we make our pizza.  It was exciting, interesting and a fun day for all that attended. We featured the “Beef on Weck Pizza,” the “BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza,” and the “Rueben Pizza.” Guy also got to see how we make our stuffed hot peppers. Customers got to visit with Guy and some will be on the show when it airs in October or November of this year. Even Mayor Larry Soos was there to give Guy the key to the city and participate in the filming of the show. The Mayor also brought an official proclamation declaring August 19th, 2009, “Pizza Junction Day.” Does it get any better than that? After almost 38 years of making pizza for the dedicated and loyal customers in North Tonawanda and the surrounding area, we’d like to thank you all for making this possible.
The Food Network production company will let us know approximately three weeks in advance when the show will air and we will post it on our website. We’re planning a big viewing party that night so we hope you can join us!
